You can phrase a question in the form of "How has X developed for me until now? How is it going to develop in the future?", but you can play the Fool's Game without a specific question also. At the beginning, remove the card "0THE FOOL" from the deck. Then shuffle the other cards and draw 12 - don't turn them around yet! Put the Fool between them and shuffle them again. Then spread all 13 cards in a row and turn them all over. Now you can start with the reading.

The position on which the Fool turns up is the present. All cards left of him describe developments/processes that happened in your past (p). The cards to the Fool's right concern possible future (f) developments.
